Dayara Bugyal is one of the most stunning alpine meadow treks in Uttarakhand. Starting from Raithal village in Uttarkashi, the trail climbs gently through oak, pine and rhododendron forests before opening into a giant grassland that feels endless. The views here hit different. Snow peaks like Bandarpoonch, Draupadi Ka Danda and Jaonli rise sharply over the meadows, giving massive 360 degree scenery ⛰️.

The meadow changes every season. In summer, it turns bright green with wildflowers. Autumn brings crystal skies and golden grass, while winter covers the entire bugyal in a pure white snow blanket ❄️. The trek stays quiet, beginner friendly and perfect for families, solo trekkers and first timers.

Dayara Bugyal is also a great sunrise point. Morning light touches the peaks and spreads over the meadow, creating a calm and surreal moment. It is one of the easiest high altitude meadow treks that still gives huge Himalayan views without any difficult sections. If you want open sky vibes, peaceful camps and wide landscapes, Dayara Bugyal is the ideal choice.

No technical sections are involved, and the ascent is smooth, so even first timers can complete it with basic preparation and steady pacing.

What is the best time to visit Dayara Bugyal?

The trek is beautiful year round, but summer and autumn offer the best conditions. Summer brings green meadows and mild weather, while autumn provides clear skies and sharp mountain views. Campsites like Gui offer flat ground, scenic views and enough space for tents. Trekkers stay in sturdy tents with sleeping bags and mats provided. The location stays peaceful with forest surroundings, making it a calm and relaxing place to spend the night. Toilets and kitchen tents are usually set up nearby.

Do I need a guide for this trek?

A guide is recommended for safety, navigation and correct route management. Forest sections have multiple turns, so having a local guide ensures you stay on track. They also help identify weather changes, set proper timings and manage campsites, making the trek safer and more comfortable for beginners.
