Kedarkantha is one of the most loved winter treks in Uttarakhand. The trail starts from Sankri village and moves through pine forests, fresh snow paths and wide clearings that open into massive mountain views. The trek is perfect for beginners because the pace is smooth and the gradient stays manageable throughout.

Winter is the real charm of Kedarkantha. The entire route turns white and you walk through soft snow with tall pine trees creating a picture perfect setting ❄️. Juda Ka Talab is the first highlight, a calm frozen lake surrounded by forest. As you move higher, long ridges open up to big views of Swargarohini, Black Peak and Bandarpoonch ⛰️.

The summit climb happens early in the morning and feels magical. You reach the top just in time for sunrise, and the golden light falls on the entire Himalayan range. Even though the summit stands at 3810 meters, the trail remains beginner friendly with no technical sections. If you want your first winter trek with real snow, big landscapes and a very rewarding summit, Kedarkantha is the perfect choice.
